Tubac Trundle
Seeing as there was only a few days notice of this event we had a respectable turn out of 5 Jaguars for the drive and a sixth joining us in Tubac. The annual Tour de Tucson bicycle event tried its best to keep folk from arriving on time so our departure was delayed a bit but we were soon assembled and ready to set off in fine Fall
weather. The route took our convoy East past the Tucson Fairgrounds then south towards the Santa Rita Mountains en route to Sahuarita where we joined the Old Nogales Hwy. Then we branched left to take East Continental Road into Green Valley where we joined Interstate 19 for the remainder of our route. The drive took just one hour but was most enjoyable with distant views of the Empire Mountain Range and close views of the Pecan Plantations near Sahuarita. In Tubac we all adjourned to Selby’s Bistro for a lazy lunch and animated chit chat before splitting up to browse the myriad art galleries and craft stores. Tubac seems to get better on each visit and is a very pleasant place to stroll around, purchase that must-have knick knack and soak up the atmosphere Altogether a most enjoyable Jaguar Club outing spent driving our cars and enjoying good company.
